Rummy is a simple, fun card game that is also hugely popular in India. The availability of rummy online has made it easy for everyone to indulge in this fun game after a hard day at work or just to take a short break during working hours. Local rummy clubs that existed by dozens in olden times are conspicuous by their absence today, especially in big cities and metros. This is because no one now has the time to frequent clubs. Online games have the advantage that they can be played at any time of the day at the comfort of one’s home or office. Easy game play, genuine game websites and secure payment options have led to the huge success of rummy in the online world. This traditional Indian game has come a long way and is still going places. Kudos to Indian Rummy!

Points Rummy is the traditional way in which Indians play rummy. In the Points Rummy system, a specific rupee-value is assigned to each point. This means that players play for points which have a pre-decided value in terms of currency.

How is Points Rummy Played?

Points Rummy is played with multiple players (generally 2 to 6). Two or more decks of cards consisting 53 cards each (including one printed joker per pack) are used in a points rummy game. In points rummy, each player is required to bring a minimum amount to the table. Each player is dealt 13 cards and a toss decides which player gets to make the first move. The objective of a points rummy game is to arrange all 13 cards in-hand in sequences and/or sets.

A joker card is randomly selected at the beginning of each points rummy game. However, in points rummy, a printed joker can also be selected as the joker card for the game. In such a case, players can also use Ace card of any suit as a joker in their sets and / or sequences. To finish a points rummy game, a player must declare at least two sequences, one of which must be a pure sequence i.e a sequence without a joker.

How is Scoring Done in Points Rummy?

In points rummy, the first player who finishes after meeting the game objective wins the game. If a player(s) drops in his/her first move, he/she get 20 points and the game continues till a single winner emerges. If a player(s) drops in after their first move, he/she get 40 points and the game continues till a winner emerges.

In points rummy, the losing player gets points equal to his/her hand score. J, Q, K, A cards of any suit carry 10 points each. All other numbered cards carry the same points as their face value e.g. 4 carries 4 points. Joker cards carry zero points. However, if the losing player(s) has no pure sequence, the points of all cards in hand are counted. In points rummy, a player can get a maximum of 80 points. The winnings in points rummy are calculated by adding the sum of all points of all opponents multiplied by the Rupee-value of the point. Rummy rules for points rummy are much the same as two player rummy tournaments played in a knock-out format.

Benefits of Points Rummy

The best part about points rummy is that more players are involved in the game and none of the players knows how much they would win or lose by the end of the game. This unpredictability factor is what keeps everyone on the edge till the very end and adds to the thrill of the game. Since there are more players, there is ofcourse more cash to be won as each player brings a minimum decided amount to the rummy table. In short, points rummy spells more players, more thrill and more cash.

The card games played in China had suits i.e. cards were segregated in groups and different card had different values (money values too) and had different pictures or items like coins.

Wikipedia says that playing card games started during the Tang Dynasty when relatives of a princess played a “leaf game“.

The old Chinese card games which actually were “money cards” had four “suits“:

Coins

Strings of coins

Myriads

Tens of myriads.

Moving from China, card games moved to Asia and then to Arab countries but the Europeans were the ones who gave it a real shape. The Europeans used to travel all over the world and when they reached China and other Asian countries and saw people playing card games, they took the card games concept to Europe and soon Europeans started to play card games and it spread across like a jungle fire.

Initially, card games were very costly because they were made by hands and later card makers also used woodcuts to stamp the pictures to the cards but the real revolution came after the invention of the printing press and that was the time when every other person could afford playing card games. Card games could be printed easily and very quickly, thereby making it affordable and reachable.

Card games were played all over Europe but the French people were the real contributors in giving a glamorized look to the card games. They were the ones who came up with hearts, clubs, spades and diamonds and also introduced faces on the cards. Almost every deck of cards had these prints after that and till now too we same the similar prints.

When the card games spread in Asia and then to European countries, America wasn’t too far either. The Americans started playing card games in the 1800s and they made some changes in the cards too. Americans were the one who gave two-headed concept to the pictures and then also made the upside-down and right-side up so that the pictures looked the same. Also, the did add a small number and letter to the corners of each card making it easier to identify the card players were holding.

The deck of cards that we play with today are very similar to that were used at that point of time. Moreover, the card games that we play are also very similar to the ones that were played earlier. Different people have amended some or the other feature/rule of these card games per their convenience but the basics still remain very similar; people are still playing card games old and new, together.

There are several websites in this world where you can play games and win cash prizes but when it comes to India there are hardly any websites that offer you games that can help you earn cash prizes.

The taxation system is India is not all that great and which is why the Government is unable to track a lot of transactions whether legal or illegal. This is the primary reason why not only India but Governments of many countries do not allow online gaming and gambling for cash because they fear fraudulent activities like cheating, insiders, money laundering etc

But, times are changing and with times India is changing too. There is a site where you can play a cash earning game called rummy which is a very common card game in India and by playing this cash earning game; you can win huge prizes too.

Everyone who spends some time online has tried his/her time on any of the gaming website but Games24×7.com is the website that offers cash earning game rummy. You can start with playing a free rummy game and once you get accustomed, play for cash against real rummy players across India. Not only can you play rummy for earning cash, you can also make friends and network very well.

Cheers to the Cash Earning Game Rummy by Games24×7.com and the growth of India!!

I am writing about my love for online games, my work, and situations when I cannot play games and a recently discovered rummy website where I play rummy24X7. I am a kind of person who likes to take a break with work every 1-2 hours and since I work 24X7, I play rummy24X7 too. So I am not saying that I play online games 24X7 but I work 24X7 too.

Every now and then I come across situations when I have to miss my weekend gaming tournament organized in my office. Since I am a gaming freak and find every reason to participate in one or the other games, I really hate it when I have to miss any gaming opportunity.

I happen to work in one of the biggest companies of India and they organize several games every weekend and I love to participate in all these games. Whether it is carom, card games like rummy, dart board game, table tennis or outdoor games like cricket or football, I am just game for it.

To be honest, I am not game for all the outdoor games but when it comes to indoor games like carom, chess or rummy, I am the first one to volunteer and am surely in the top 3 players.

My office organizes one or the other gaming tournament every weekend for its employees and I hate it when I have to miss any of these games and the reasons are as universal as they can be…….either I had to be busy in a meeting, or had to take your wife to the doctor or attend a social party or go to your kid’s school.

Since I hate to miss any opportunity of playing games, I have recently discovered an online rummy website where I can play rummy 24X7. Yes, Games24X7.com is a website that offers rummy24X7 and you won’t believe that there are more than 100,000 rummy players that play rummy24X7.

This is the actual beauty of online games that you can you can play them anytime i.e. play game online 24X7. Today, hardly anyone is deprived of Internet and the Government of India is working really hard to increase the reach and quality of Internet in India.

For me, one of the favorite and easiest ways to enjoy online is to play card games online and I now play rummy24X7 on Games24X7.com as they run rummy tournaments the entire day.

I have literally seen people playing rummy24X7 as when I spend a boring and a hectic day in the office, I come home and after my wife and kids have slept, I simply login to this rummy website and play rumm24X7 and find it a great way to unwind.

As I spend a lot of time online, i play game online most of the time. I keep discovering new online games and I love playing games online and some of my friends also call me a gaming freak.

I primarily love playing card games as I have good luck with winning card games. Whenever I play card games with my friends, my friends are afraid that I will start winning and will take everyone’s money and no wonder I win the card games tournament every diwali.

Now my job is such that I am online most of the time and due to the extreme weather conditions (hot or cold), I dont like to go outside instead I just feel like sitting in my office even during the lunch hours. The other day I was spending time to find a new gaming site on Google and I found this new online card games websites www.games24×7.com that was offering 13 cards Indian rummy online for real money……..yes, REAL CASH.

Initially, I thought it might be some fraud website company as the first thought that came to my mind was that gambling is banned in India and the question that struck to my mind was that Is playing rummy legal?….

I was skeptical because I didn’t want to play for money on some come and go gaming website.

Since I am in India, I would like to put it as “is playing rummy legal in India?” and after some research I found that yes, playing rummy is legal in India as the Supreme court of India has given a ruling in the year 1968 that says that rummy is a game of skill and does not fall under a game of chance (gambling) i.e. playing rummy game involves a lot of skill and does not depend on chance that is why rummy is a game of skill and legal to play in India.

I concluded that not only Games24×7.com was legal but it definatly was worth the time. The website and the system looked extremely professional and seamless. Even better was the fact that I didnt had to download rummy software (usually gaming software are heavy and eats up the RAM).

Simply, create an account and start playing free rummy or rummy for cash. I played some free games to understand the rules and then added cash to my account and participate in their rummy tournaments regularly that too by playing rummy legally and winning cash legally.

As I spend a lot of time online, i play game online most of the time. I keep discovering new online games and I love playing games online and some of my friends also call me a gaming freak.

In a 13 cards rummy game, a player on his/her turn is supposed to pick up the 14th card (either from the draw pile of the discard pile); use the 14th card if required and then discard the 14th card.

The discarded card could be the card he just picked or any card from his existing 13 cards. The player should have 13 cards at the end of his/her turn.

The cards that are discarded by the players form the discard pile. Some people also call discarding a card as laying off a card.
