If a player(s) drops in his/her first move, he/she get 20 points and the game continues till a single winner emerges. If a player(s) drops in after their first move, he/she get 40 points and the game continues till a winner emerges.

In points rummy, the losing player gets points equal to his/her hand score. J, Q, K, A cards of any suit carry 10 points each. All other numbered cards carry the same points as their face value e.g. 4 carries 4 points. Joker cards carry zero points. However, if the losing player(s) has no pure sequence, the points of all cards in hand are counted. In points rummy, a player can get a maximum of 80 points. The winnings in points rummy are calculated by adding the sum of all points of all opponents multiplied by the Rupee-value of the point.
